WoW, this has GOT to be the only MMO I know that can take in excess of 5hrs - 8hrs to update a fresh client! Really? 

DAMN!!!

Since I had to do a fresh install, I decided to make it so that never happens again. Below are fresh updates that you can download in put in your FFXI folder. Just overwrite, then run POL and you should be up and running in maybe 1 or 2hrs tops!! Only because the download, and extraction may take a bit (file is compressed fairly high, so If you have a weak computer, might take a bit).

BENCHMARK:
DSL: 1hr ~10min (download)
7z Extract: (i7 intel): 15mn - 20mn

Total Update time: about 1.5hrs (avg update time old way 5-9hrs!!)
